Assistance with Community Cats

One of the best programs for dealing with community cat populations including feral cats is Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR) programs. Cats are humanely trapped and taken to a veterinarian for spay/neuter surgery and other necessary care. Their ears are tipped so trappers can easily identify cats that have already been altered. They are then returned to their original location, which is familiar to them and also deters other unaltered cats from moving into that space and furthering the cat population.

While the Carroll County Animal Protection League does not currently have a TNR program, we are supportive of current programs in the area and are willing to partner with community members interested in creating a TNR program in Carroll County.
